Diabetes is a common chronic disease that reduces the quality of life and often leads to chronic complications. The disease develops when the pancreatic beta cells do not release enough insulin to keep the blood glucose levels within the normal range. Many factors are involved in the development of diabetes. The disease may arise at all ages and in different forms.
